Fiberglass Insulation Pensacola

Most of the fiberglass we find underperforming was not the wrong product. It was compressed, gapped around wiring, or stopped short at the eaves where it mattered most.

Why Installation Quality Decides the Result

A batt reaches its rated R-value only when it fills the cavity edge to edge at full loft, cut around obstructions rather than crushed past them. Stuffed behind a wire, squashed by a brace or left with a finger gap at the stud, it gives up a large share of its rating. The material is rarely at fault; the fit almost always is.

When Fiberglass Is the Right Call Here

It is a sound, economical choice in a simple well-vented attic and in cavities with easy uninterrupted access. It does not air seal, and on the Gulf Coast air movement carries humidity as well as heat, so where that is the fault we will say foam is the better spend rather than selling you the cheaper line. Questions

Common questions

Is fiberglass worse than spray foam?

It is different. Fiberglass slows heat transfer but does not stop air movement, and air movement is the fault in most underperforming Gulf Coast buildings.

Can batts go over existing insulation?

Sometimes, if what is there is dry and uncompacted. Laying new material over damp insulation traps the problem.

Does fiberglass hold moisture?

It does not absorb water the way cellulose can, but it also does nothing to stop humid air passing through it.
